Making Sense of David Byrne Big Suit

Director Jonathan Demme apprehends the fierce energy and artsy groove of Talking Heads in this performance movie shot at the Hollywood Pantages Theatre. The band’s frontman, David Byrne, first emerges on a vacant stage, equipped with only an acoustic guitar, and is slowly joined by bassist Tina Weymouth and drummer Chris Frantz, keyboardist Jerry Harrison and a cadre of backup vocalists as they perform the band’s hits, culminating in a memorable performance starring Byrne in a tremendous suit.
